“A basic principle of volunteering is that the volunteer worker supplements, supports, and expands the work of a professional, yet never replaces a paid staff member.” Volunteers will provide services that are meaningful and essential to the operation of the Boys & Girls Club of Bulloch County that would otherwise be performed by staff, or not at all. A volunteer freely offers to contribute skills or services to enhance the organization and strengthen its impact on youth development, without expectation of financial or other tangible compensation from the organization. Volunteers are considered employees with the Boys & Girls Club of Bulloch County. 

A volunteer application must be completed and submitted either in person or via email to the organizations Volunteer Representative. The Agreement Form must be signed and dated by the volunteer, agreeing to abide by the policies and procedures, and committing to uphold the mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bulloch County. The application and agreement form will be kept in the volunteer’s personnel file. 

All volunteer applicants must successfully complete and provide the results of a criminal history background check. An individual will not be considered, or work in the capacity of, an official volunteer/employee until such results are complete. After submitting the Volunteer Application and Criminal History Background Check results, the volunteer candidate will be required to attend the volunteer orientation program. The orientation will be scheduled periodically throughout the calendar year by an organizational representative.  

The Boys & Girls Club of Bulloch County will provide its volunteers with a pleasant environment which produces efficient, productive, and creative work. The Club will not tolerate verbal or physical abuse which harasses, disrupts, or interferes with another’s work performance or creates an intimidating, offensive, or hostile environment. Any sexual, racial, religious, handicap, or origin harassment or discrimination will not be allowed in any form or fashion.
